Project Spotlight: Theming!!

This week’s spotlight project is on “theming”, basically No Fault’s design abilities. We can take your dream design and bring it to life, while offering our expert opinion along the way.

We have completed numerous projects that involve design!

Here’s a brief history on No Fault:
  • Elementary School
We were founded in 1974 by David Brantley, No Fault started off as a tennis court and running track construction company!
  • It wasn’t until the 1980’s that we developed the poured-in-place safety surface! We first marketed it to McDonald’s Corporation, after that our client list continued to grow. Some of our clients included: Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Six Flags, Bright Horizons, KinderCare, and LaPetite! WOW!
  • Today, we have installed over 13 million square feet of safety surface worldwide and our client list has expanded to include government & military sites, park & recreation departments, amusement & waterparks,  public & private schools, resorts & hotels, corporate child care facilities, children’s hospitals, and various other private facilities.

Whew that was a lot! I could talk all day about our design abilities, but why not check them out for yourself below!

The History of Running Tracks!

Since the 2012 Olympics are taking place very soon, it's only appropriate to give you a brief rundown of the history of running tracks!

  • The first Olympic race was in 776 B.C. Greece and the track was 600 ft long.
  • Early tracks in the US were about 440 yards and made of dirt & cinders.
  • The first synthetic track was built in the late 1960’s and was made from asphalt & sand. Asphalt tracks did not weather well. During extreme heat, the track softened, but when it became very cold, the track was equivilant to running on concrete. Over time, these tracks were no different than an asphalt road.
  • Today, tracks are made from a mix of polyurethane and rubber granules, of course you can still have tracks built a few other ways. The polyurethane track yeilds a much faster track and the synthetic rubber creates better traction for athletes. The average track is 440 yards and the indoor track is 200 meters, ranging from 4-8 lanes.

Track surfaces have come a long way from the first Olympics and provide a much better surface for athletes that support their joints & muscles! No Fault Safety Surface poured-in-place track surfaces allows for an incredibly comfortable "cushion like" surface that’s easier on the legs and knees which makes No Fault the #1 preferred surface by athletes and trainers. Coast-to- coast installation service is available.

Pool Area Safey & Facelift!

Before No Fault Safety Surface
It’s June and it’s HOT. Everyone loves to go swimming and pool owners can agree, sometimes pools aren’t so safe. One common issue is the pool decking (the surface around the pool). The surface is usually concrete, it can be rough on feet, hot, and slippery when water collects in puddles from excessive splashing. As time goes on, society is constantly concerned with safety.  Builders and contractors are looking for safer and softer alternatives for pool decking, especially when it’s an environment with a heavy presence of children!

After No Fault Safety Surface

Safety Surface is No Fault’s solution to this problem! It’s great for pool decks and water play areas, other applications include jogging tracks, walkways, and playgrounds. We have installed No Fault Safety Surface in water parks, residential pools, and natatoriums throughout the country! It not only improves the safety of your pool area, but it looks fabulous as well!

Spotlight: LSU Baseball Alex Box Stadium

This post features No Fault's work at LSU's Alex Box Stadium. No Fault was so excited when presented the opportunity to provide our premium surface applications to LSU Alex Box Stadium back in 2009, not only because of LSU's big name, but also because this was a hometown project, and we are ALL Tiger fans!! We applied our poured-in-place safety surface to the inner warning track and the LSU playground. We applied No Faut Sport Turf throughout the indoor batting facility.

Check out what LSU had to say about No Fault below the pictures!

"Jay has been fabulous to work with and I really appreciate all the care and support you all have demonstrated throughout our first season in the New Box. First of all it’s a maintenance free surface! It’s almost as once you set it, you forget it. At most you might sweep it occasionally just to keep it clean, but it does not require any dragging or constant edging. Secondly, it does not get dusty like most warning track material. Thirdly, it’s safe for players to run on in foul territory. Lastly, it’s aesthetically pleasing because it gives the ballpark nice, clean, symmetrical appearance, which is good for everybody players and fans alike. I wouldn’t be surprised if (at the end of the year) Coach Mainieri asked our administration to wrap the surface all the way around foul pole to foul pole. There is no question, that I would recommend this application to anybody even considering building or renovating their current facility. It is a top notch product, that belongs on a baseball field because it is the perfect balance between the natural grass (field of play) to the warning track areas near dugouts, bullpens, & walls."

Benefits of Rubber Mulch

Are you debating on whether to purchase rubber or wood mulch for your flowerbed or play area?

Rubber mulch can be used for many applications, such as, playgrounds, landscaping, walking and jogging paths, and equestrian environments. Although rubber mulch isn’t the traditional mulch, it outperforms wood in many areas!
  • Staying Power: Rubber Mulch is heavier than wood mulch, so it’s not going to move like wood mulch in strong winds or floods.
  • Weathering: No Fault Rubber Mulch has a 5 year color fade warranty, most rubber mulch does. Traditional wood mulch starts to fade after too much sun expose within the first year!
  • Time & Money: Although rubber mulch is more costly than traditional wood mulch, flowerbeds must be re-mulched annually with wood mulch. By using rubber mulch, you will eliminate that yearly chore and expense!
  • Cushion: The more shock absorbent a surface is, the likelihood of a serious injury is reduced. No Fault Rubber Mulch protects children against falls up to 12 feet, depending on the depth of the mulch, and meets ASTM & ADA standards. It requires more wood mulch to acquire the same fall height protection, it displaces, and you run the risk of getting splinters. Ounch!
